Fire damages Pizza Hut in Middleburg

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a Pizza Hut in Middleburg.

Clay County Fire Rescue responded Friday around 9:15 a.m. to the fire at the restaurant on Blanding Boulevard.

Firefighters told Action News that workers stepped outside for a cigarette break.  They went back inside and noticed the fire.

The fire was put out before spreading to other businesses, which are all open.

CCFR said the extent of the damage is unknown at this time, however it appears the roof was badly damaged.

The fire appears accidental; however the investigation continues.
