FL Secretary of State, Governor extend voter registration to 7:00 p.m.

Florida — After there were some issues with the online voter registration system yesterday,

Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee and Governor Ron DeSantis decided to re-open Florida’s voter registration deadline.

The voter registration deadline is now extended to 7:00 p.m., if you plan to register in-person.

If you’re applying online, you need to make sure that application get’s in before 7:00 p.m.

According to Secretary of State Lee, "During the last few hours, the RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov website was accessed by an unprecedented 1.1 million requests per hour.

If you don’t want to go down to the Supervisor of Elections office, applications will also be accepted from the following places:

• County Supervisors of Elections Offices

• Local Tax Collector’s Offices

• Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' Driver’s License Offices

• Paper applications postmarked by today, October 6, 2020
