JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police rescued a “suicidal” man who had crossed over barriers atop the Dame Point Bridge where he remained about 20 minutes.
Few details from police are available about the incident that occurred about 4:30 p.m., but traffic cameras showed officers talking with a person near the bridges edge before they took him into custody.
The incident lasted less than an hour but backed up traffic while lanes were shut down so police could talk with the person.
By 5:30 p.m., Florida Department of Transportation maps showed traffic flowing once again over the bridge.
