JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police have charged a now-former Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department employee with sex crimes involving minors, including lewd behavior and sale of obscene material.
Joshua Kotsis, 30, of St. Augustine was arrested Friday in Marion County, according to documents from Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

JFRD shared the following statement on Monday:
“JFRD confirms the individual was employed with the department as a probationary firefighter, with less than six months in this role.
“Upon learning of the arrest and charges against Joshua Kotsis, JFRD Administration immediately began an internal investigation. Kotsis has since resigned from the department.
“Please direct any questions about the charges to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.”
