JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced Wednesday morning that new jobs coming to Jacksonville -- 200 of which will go to tech developers.
Scott along with other city and state officials made the announcement at 10:30 a.m. at the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Scott said the company randrr choose Jacksonville for its location. randrr is a digital platform that helps connect individuals with job opportunities. The company choose Jacksonville over California, Ohio and New York.
“Our team at randrr is working very hard to create a platform that will change the way people and companies connect and we're thrilled to be recognized today," said Terry Terhark, CEO of randrr. "I want to thank Governor Rick Scott and Jacksonville leaders for their commitment to creating a world-class technology environment where companies like randrr can find the talent we need.”
The company will add the 200 jobs in the city by 2018 and adding $9 million in capital investment.
“We are excited to welcome randrr to Jacksonville and celebrate the company’s creation of 200 new jobs. randrr chose to establish its new offices in Florida over several other locations across the country, including Silicon Valley and New York, because of our talented workforce and focus on STEM education," Scott said.
On Tuesday, Scott was in Jacksonville to thank first responders and officers for their preparation for Tropical Storm Colin.
