The Flagler County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying that the threats coming from people dressed as clowns circulating on social media are not real -- but will be taken seriously.
"Many of the threats that involved clowns going to school campuses to either kidnap students or kill teachers going to their cars. THIS IS NOT TRUE," FSO said.

Authorities and Flagler County Schools officials said they have reviewed these cases and deem them as hoaxes.
They said people should not add to the "false hype" by dressing up as clowns to scare people for their own amusement, FSO said.
The public is advised to call 911 if anyone sees anything suspicious.
