That’s where Action News Jax’s Zion Decoteau was reporting live at noon on Friday.

Decoteau talked to local outdoor food vendor Joy Didelot, who runs The Pico Princess, about how all this rain is impacting her business.

She was positive about the situation and said she has her dedicated customers.

But ponding and water collecting on the side of the road are what drivers across this area have to deal with.

Our camera captured ponding along Roscoe Boulevard. Much of the flooding appeared to be on the side of the road, or on front lawns. The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team said just Friday morning, two-to-two-and-a-half inches of rain fell on Palm Valley and Ponte Vedra Beach.

On Friday, Didelot was stationed underneath the County Road 210 overpass off Palm Valley Road and Roscoe Boulevard.

With her sunny disposition on this washout day, Joy Didelot runs The Pico Princess food stand. While she said she never wanted a brick-and-mortar storefront, she acknowledges that it can be challenging anytime there’s rainfall like this.

“But I’m gonna say rain is gonna set you back 50% easy. Without question. People … people who do want it enough, they’re gonna come out then there’s also those people that you lose that aren’t gonna take a chance at all to come out and have an experience,” Didelot said.

Annette Rosa of St. Johns visited the stand despite the rainy conditions.

“She’s pretty famous on social media so that’s what brought me out here and everybody seems to like it a lot and we came out and tried it, and I do love seeing her, my fellow Latina,” Rosa said.

Dedicated customers indeed.

The drenched conditions won’t be a complete wash. Didelot said that she has her products at a number of retail stores, providing her supplemental income.
