BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Looking for something to do on a Thursday night in downtown Brunswick? Well, the Cinema Gourmet, Golden Isles Arts & Humanties’ popular series pairing delicious food with classic films continues on Thursday, Feb. 9.
The 2005 film of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice will be screened and discussed with a pairing of culinary delights of Chef Judah Lynch and Indigo Shanty. The evening’s events begin with delicious food at 6:30 p.m.
The novel turned film, Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen will highlight the evening. Considered one of the most popular novels in the English language, the classic tale is of love and misunderstanding taking place in class-conscious England near the close of the 18th century.
It so happens that Pride and Prejudice is also the read for January and February of Coastal Georgia reads.
Additional events including book discussions, films and lectures will take place to encourage everyone to read this classic novel. The events circle around The Big Read sponsored by Golden Isles Arts & Humanities, Marshes of Glynn Libraries, College of Coastal Georgia and Three Rivers Regional Libraries.
Seating is limited for the food, talk and movie, so audience members are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. The deadline for buying tickets for Pride and Prejudice is midnight on Monday, Feb. 6.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by phone with a credit card or in person at the Ritz Theatre, Tuesday through Fridays, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased securely online by clicking here or visiting www.goldenislesarts.org.
