MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — Robert Rahn III, 36, a former behaviorial health assistant at Middleburg High School until 2022, has been arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.
Rahn, who is being held at the Clay County Jail following his arrest, worked as a behavioral health assistant at the school from August 2021 to February 2022.
His arrest comes after past concerns were raised by his former girlfriend, Mariah Jarrett, who is the mother of his 3-year-old son.
Jarrett met Rahn in 2022 shortly after he finished working as a behavioral health assistant at Middleburg High School. The two later coached Little League baseball together before Jarrett discovered details that altered her view of him.
“There are definitely two separate entities there. There’s the Robert that I knew and then there’s this whole other person,” Jarrett said.
She explained that she only came to accept the allegations after examining messaging records directly. “If I did not see the conversations for myself, you know, through my investigation, I would have never believed that,” Jarrett said.
Jarrett cut Rahn out of her and their child’s lives in 2024 when the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office began investigating him following reports from local parents regarding his social media activity.
“I had several parents reach out to me saying that Robert was trying to add their kids on things like Snapchat, Facebook,” Jarrett said.
Detectives with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office concluded that initial investigation without finding evidence of criminal wrongdoing at that time.
Following Rahn’s recent arrest in Clay County, Jarrett spoke about the ongoing emotional strain and the impact on their family.
“I have a 3-year-old that doesn’t know the concept of dad, but I know one day he will. I have to struggle with how do I even go about this?” Jarrett said.
She expressed belief that additional details may still come to light and encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact law enforcement.

Clay County District Schools issued the following statement:
“Clay County District Schools was recently notified by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office regarding the arrest of a former employee. District records indicate this individual was employed as a Behavioral Health Assistant for six months nearly five years ago. No internal investigations occurred during his brief time with us.”
