A local officer, awarded for his expertise in detecting impaired drivers, has been arrested and faces charges for DUI.
In 2017, Glynn County police Officer Kevin Yarborough was named a Drug Recognition Expert.
Monday, the 38-year-old found himself behind bars, accused of breaking the law he spends his life enforcing.
A report from the Georgia State Patrol says Yarborough swerved while driving on SR 25 and turning onto Cate Road.
According to the report, he admitted to taking two shots within 45 minutes of the incident and his breath test registered at .116, above the legal .08 limit.

He’s charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

A spokesperson for the department said he has been placed on administrative leave.
Records show he has bonded out of the Glynn County Detention Facility.
