St. Johns County deputies are investigating after a car and gun were stolen in a string of car burglaries in Nocatee.
Surveillance video shows someone trying to get into a truck on Pinewoods Street just after 4 a.m. Monday.
It’s one of several cars targeted by thieves in Austin Park.
“Stay off our property. You know? There’s no reason for it. It’s ridiculous,” Tina Riccio said.

Riccio said she and her family moved from New Jersey to Nocatee because she believed it would be a safe community.
Her 2017 Ford Fusion was stolen from her driveway on Amherst Place after her husband left the keys inside with the doors unlocked.
A man’s gun was stolen and two other cars were broken into on Glenalby Place in the same neighborhood. At least one of the cars was unlocked, according to a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office report.
