JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Murray Hill Preservation Association will host the annual Hill-O-Ween festival along Edgewood Avenue in Jacksonville on Saturday, Oct. 24. The event is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The gathering brings together neighbors, families, and visitors for an evening focused on community entertainment and neighborhood businesses. This year’s celebration is organized in partnership with Community First Credit Union.
Festivities scheduled throughout the evening include a pumpkin patch, a kids’ area with inflatables, interactive entertainment, and local vendors.
The celebration’s primary feature is the annual Hill-O-Ween Parade. Daniel Mattson-Boze is the president of the Hill Preservation Association and spoke about the gathering’s significance for local residents.
“Hill-O-Ween has become an important part of the fabric of our neighborhood,” Mattson-Boze said. “It’s an opportunity for the entire community to come together, support local businesses and enjoy a fun evening with family, friends and neighbors. We’re grateful to our partners and supporters who help make this celebration possible each year.”
Community First Credit Union will participate with giveaways and activities planned at its street-facing location on Edgewood Avenue. Community First Credit Union CEO Sam Inman is serving as the parade grand marshal while the financial institution continues construction on its newest branch in the neighborhood.
“Leading the Hill-O-Ween parade gives us a wonderful opportunity to connect with the families, vendors, and business owners who make Hill so special,” Inman said. “It’s no thriller that we’re proud to be a part of this growing fall tradition and this amazing neighborhood where we continue to build our newest branch.”
The festival will take place on Edgewood Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 24, starting at 5 p.m.
