JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are searching for the two gunmen who killed a local man. Thomas McIntee was killed Sunday morning while working at a Gate gas station.
Police are connecting the murder to a carjacking. That carjacking happened on Moncrief Road, not far from the gas station. But police are not only trying to piece together what happened between the carjacking and the robbery at the store on Busch Drive but also directly after the shooting.
From the Gate gas station on Busch Drive to Hook Fish and Chicken on Moncrief Road, where the carjacking took place is only about 6 miles and a central part of this investigation.

Police said the car stolen at the Hook Fish and Chicken is the same car used to rob the Gate gas station almost seven hours later.
That car is a 2002 silver Toyota Avalon with damage on the driver's side door and front driver's side quarter panel.
Police have recovered the car but they want anyone who saw it between 10:50 p.m. Saturday night and 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning to call police immediately.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office isn't confirming whether the same person who carjacked the car was the shooter. Gate has donated $20,000 thousand dollars to Crime Stoppers to help catch the killers on top of the $3,000 reward already being offered.
