Jacksonville FBI helps to arrest man, woman on child porn charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — FBI agents in Georgia and Florida teamed up to arrest a man and woman facing child pornography charges.

The Jacksonville FBI was able to figure out how the suspects swapped child porn when the man and woman used a very common app.

In an eight-page criminal complaint filed in the Northern District of Georgia, it says Katrina Cox performed oral sex on a 5-year-old boy, among other pornographic acts.

The case dates back to October 29, when David Guite, of Deland, was arrested by the Jacksonville FBI for receiving and distributing child porn from Cox. The FBI said the duo used a mobile app called Video Kik.

"The government uses specialized software to seek out certain activity on the Internet that relates that relates to these kind of acts," said Action News law and safety expert Dale Carson.

In the complaint, the pornographic series included 22 videos and numerous still photos of Cox abusing the 5-year-old boy.

"If she is convicted of this, she is looking at probably looking at 25 years as a floor," Carson said.

Cox is facing various charges, and as for Guite, if convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in federal prison.
