Jacksonville Humane Society receives grant from Petco Foundation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Humane Society received a grant from Petco Foundation for The Campaign for a Compassionate Community.

The $1 million grant was given on Saturday and will go toward a new shelter facility for the animals at the Jacksonville Humane Society.

“The Petco Foundation is proud to invest in the Jacksonville Humane Society’s leadership, and support them in maintaining Jacksonville’s status as a national leader in the no-kill movement,” said Susanne Kogut, executive director, Petco Foundation.

“We are extremely grateful that a national organization such as the Petco Foundation has selected us as a recipient of their generosity. This will aid us in building a premiere facility to serve Jacksonville’s animals and further inspire our community to think adoption first for decades to come,” said Denise Deisler, executive director, Jacksonville Humane Society.

The humane society has worked in temporary structures after a fire destroyed their building.
