A man convicted of ordering a hit on a witness from inside his jail cell was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Wednesday.
In June, a jury found 26-year-old Quintae Hudson guilty in the murder of Michael Wright.
Wright was a 62-year-old security guard who prosecutors say witnessed Hudson commit a crime in 2014. A court document shows Wright witnessed Hudson allegedly throwing a concrete stone through a woman's car, hurting her small child.
Hudson put a hit out on Wright’s life to prevent him from testifying. Wright was killed on Easter Sunday 2016 for what he knew and was willing to tell.
On Wednesday, Wright's family said they love and forgive Hudson. After he was sentenced, Hudson cursed at the judge and had to be forcefully removed from the courtroom.
Police believe Hudson is part of a local gang.
