A Jacksonville parishioner is dead after he fell from the roof of his home during Hurricane Matthew.
Bob McDonald was trying to cover a hole caused by a tree on his roof around 1 p.m. when he lost his balance and fell.
Rev. Terry Lucarelli said McDonald was taken to Memorial Hospital.
He was taken off of life support around 3:55 p.m.
Dozens of people left messages mourning his death on a Facebook post by Lakewood Presbyterian Church.
Lucarelli said McDonald will be missed by the Lakewood family greatly.

McDonald is one of two people in our area reported dead after Hurricane Matthew.
A Putnam woman was riding out the storm in a camper with a man when a tree fell on it.
The man escaped the trailer with minor injuries but the woman was killed.
