JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison for the shooting death of a man in 2014.
Terrance Sopenasky, 30, was convicted of manslaughter with a firearm and two counts of attempted manslaughter with a firearm, according to a news release from the state attorney’s office.
In March 2014, Sopenasky had a verbal altercation with the victim, Kenneth Jackson Jr.
The state attorney’s news release says a short time after the altercation, Jackson and two friends drove by Sopenasky’s home. Jackson got out of his car and Sopenasky opened fire on Jackson and the car.
The release says a total of 15 shots were fired and Jackson died at the scene. Two other victims at the scene were not hurt.
