JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 7/21/2019 9:30 PM: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Carlos Roberto Ramos Carias for murder, tampering with a witness and aggravated assault.

When police arrived to the area of Copper and Drum Streets in reference to a burglary and shooting, they found a dead man with an apparent gunshot wound and a knife in his hand. Carias was also present and was detained on the scene.
After investigating and interviewing witnesses, detectived determined the shooting was a result of an altercation after the victim tried to retreive a woman's phone that Carias had taken earlier that night at a dance club.
Witnesses said the victim did not have anything in his hands when he was shot and that Carias put a knife in the victim's hand after he was shot.

Gun used to commit the murder was stolen from an auto burglary on San Pablo Rd in 2018. Suspect bought the gun on the street.

The gun Carias allegedly used was reported stolen in 2018 from a vehicle on San Pablo Road. The suspect claimed to have purchased the gun from someone on the street.

One person is dead and another in custody after a shooting on Drum Street in the Englewood-area Saturday morning, JSO says.
Police have Drum Street and the next street over blocked off. Detectives are currently interviewing neighbors and collecting evidence.
