Jacksonville woman gets 8 years in prison after baby cousin seriously hurt in her care

A Jacksonville mother said she's finally at peace after her daughter's babysitter was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Belle Baker was 7 months old in October 2015 when she was rushed to the hospital with a fractured spine, a broken collar, arm and leg and a head injury.

Baker's cousin Terrvahnda Rock, 24, told Belle's mom Ashley Ervine that her daughter fell down the stairs while in her care.

Rock was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect in February.

She was sentenced on Friday to 8 years in prison on the child neglect charge.

A year after Belle was injured, her mom says she's doing well.
