JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Distance, early hours, and dreary weather couldn’t keep Jacksonville Jaguars fans away from their game-day routine Sunday.
As the Jaguars squared off against the Philadelphia Eagles across the pond in London, local fans packed into The Block Jax starting as early as 8 a.m.
That’s when many began to secure prime seats, breakfast, and drinks.
“Had to wake up early for it,” said fan Logan Davis.
For many, the early kickoff brought out friendly rivalries. Attendees like Lily and Hannah noted the energetic atmosphere of fans mixing team loyalties.
“We got a little friendship rivalry with the Jags and the Eagles, so we all had to come out and watch the game together.”
With the NFL hosting a game in London involving the Jaguars for its 14th consecutive season, local supporters say the international series continues to build a strong global presence for Jacksonville.
Sunday’s damp conditions also sparked nostalgic comparisons to past international matchups.
“It was very rainy last year. The whole game against the Rams was very, very rainy,” said a Jags fan. “So it’s giving a little bit of that vibe.”
Fans plan to keep the momentum going bright and early next week as the Jaguars prepare to face off against the Texans at Wembley Stadium in London.
