JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting a month-long celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month throughout September, launching community outreach programs and student-athlete recognition under the banner “Somos DUUUVAL.”
The initiative addresses the growth of the Hispanic and Latino community in Northeast Florida through youth sports, literacy outreach, and leadership initiatives.
Adriel Rocha, the Jaguars vice president of community impact and youth development, emphasized the initiative’s focus on community service and culture. “Hispanic Heritage Month is a reminder of the rich culture, contributions and leadership of the Hispanic community and through Somos DUUUVAL, the Jaguars strive to celebrate and strengthen that spirit in Jacksonville,” Rocha said. “Through a month-long series of initiatives for the Hispanic community, we are harnessing the power of service to strengthen connections and make a lasting difference in this community.”
As part of the initiative, Jaguars PREP, the foundation’s youth programming branch, partnered with Ticketmaster and Farah & Farah to host two youth football camps focused on athletics and leadership skills.
Nearly 350 students in third through fifth grades at BridgePrep Academy and Englewood Elementary School are participating.
The camps are scheduled for Sept. 15 at Conser Beach Volleyball Center and Sept. 22 at Englewood Elementary School, featuring appearances by Jaguars players, team mascot Jaxson de Ville and members of THE ROAR cheerleading squad.
The team is also partnering with READ USA to host the Whataburger Literacy Locker Room on Sept. 22 at Global Leadership Academy Discovery Campus. A Jaguars player or alumnus legend will read to students, share personal literacy experiences, and provide each child with a book to take home. Ville and members of THE ROAR will also attend the event.
The initiative also highlights local student-athletes through the NFL Latino Youth Honors program. Lorena Clutter, a wide receiver and linebacker at The Bolles School, and Enrique Ordoñez, a running back at Nease High School, are the Jaguars’ 2026 nominees for the award.
Clutter and Ordoñez will be recognized as South End Zone honorees before kickoff at the Sept. 27 game against the New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium.
