JSO: 2 teens shot returning home from Ribault High basketball game

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident involving 3 teenagers who were shot at while driving home from a Ribault basketball game Saturday night.

Police said three 17-year-old boys were turning onto Avenue B in the Magnolia Gardens area when they heard gunshots.

Two of the passengers told the driver that they had been shot, JSO said.

According to JSO, the 17-year-old driver then made a U-Turn and was heading towards UF Health with the victims when he spotted a Jacksonville Fire Rescue engine in the 4600 block of Moncrief Road and he flagged it down.

Both victims were transported to UF Health by rescue, JSO said, with non-life threatening injuries.

According to detectives, there is no suspect description at this time.

JSO said about 9 round were fired and shell casings have been recovered at the scene of the shooting.
