Former Jaguars safety accused of using car to chase ex-wife through Jacksonville

A Jacksonville man who played three seasons for the Jaguars was arrested over the weekend and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after he allegedly rammed his ex-wife's car.

Marlon McCree, 41, is accused of chasing his ex-wife's vehicle to a downtown bar where she was trying to hide from him.

The ex-wife said that she had filed for an injunction for protection against McCree last week.

McCree played for the Jags from 2001 to 2003, where he had 6 interceptions in the 2002 season. He wrapped up his career in 2008 with the Denver Broncos.

On Saturday, McCree's vehicle suddenly appeared in front of them, chasing them through the parking lots of the Regency Mall and Best Buy according to a JSO officer.

The ex-wife, with her mother in the vehicle, desperately tried to make it to JSO headquarters with McCree chasing them.

They eventually sought refuge in the Bistro Bar.

The ex-wife believes McCree tracked them using the OnStar feature in her vehicle.

JSO said in the report that the victims car had damage consistent with her statement.

McCree was arrested without incident at his home in Glen Kernan and said that he was not in possession of the car that reportedly rammed into his ex-wife's.

McCree said that a friend borrowed the car the day of the incident, but did not give a statement to police,

JSO said that McCree was wearing clothing that matched the description from the ex-wife.
