JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was at the scene where a body was found Sunday night.
Police said a bicyclist saw the body in a ditch off Pritchard Road on the Westside and believed the body was dumped there.
Neighbors said the location on Pritchard Road is the perfect spot for a crime.
After hours of investigating and looking for evidence, police took down the crime scene tape.
But early Monday, police were digging and collecting brown bags from the ditch on Pritchard Road.
Darrell Stringfield lives just down the street from where it all happened.
“It hits close to home, when it’s right down the road,” Stringfield said.
That thought alone makes him worried.
“You have somebody killing people right down the road from me, or throwing them out,” Stringfield said.
He said that’s easy to do, because where the body was found is pitch black at night.
“Late at night, you know that’s pretty dark down that way. It would be easy to chunk a body out and no one see you,” Stringfield said.
JSO said they can’t tell if that’s body is a man or woman, because the body has been out in the open for a while.
