In a briefing, JSO said two male juveniles were sitting on an electrical box outside when a blue van drove up to the boys. After a few words with the occupants of the van, both groups exchanged gunfire and the van drove off.
One of the two boys was shot twice in the back and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
