JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery attempt that took place Friday afternoon at Jax Metro Credit Union, located at 3033 Lenox Avenue on the Westside.

Around 3:41 p.m., a man with a thin goatee and standing about six feet tall approached the bank teller and provided a note demanding money and indicating he had a gun, according to JSO Sgt. Ford.

Though the note indicated the man had a gun, he did not show a gun. Prior to getting any money, the man ran away and believe he went westbound.

Police say this robbery is not related to a robbery that happened earlier Friday. Detectives are working to get surveillance video of the man from the bank.
