DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A police-involved shooting in Northwest Jacksonville began when two gunmen attempted to run an officer off the road, said the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO Chief Mike Bruno said Officer J.C. Nobles saw a stolen vehicle in a cemetery when the suspects attempted to ram him off the road. The suspects crashed into a tree and ran.
The driver was shot and killed by Officer J.C. Nobles while the passenger ran off, JSO said.
Nobles was not injured in the shooting. Bruno identified the driver as 16-year-old Kendre Alston.
The other gunman is still at large. JSO said the vehicle was reported stolen on March. 11 and one of the guns recovered was reported stolen in 2012.
