JSO: Woman shot after group dispute, search for SUV possibly linked

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was shot Monday following a dispute between two groups, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the incident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m., in the area of Cumbria Boulevard and Garden Street. The groups were both in vehicles.

"Eventually the argument escalated to where at least one individual began shooting from a vehicle into the victim's vehicle," JSO said.

The woman shot pulled into a Race Trac gas station  located at 9980 New Kings Road where police were called.

JSO said she was shot once in the upper body and was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She is described as a black woman.

Detectives are interviewing potential witnesses and are searching for a white SUV possibly involved in the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.
