JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The win streak continues in Jacksonville as the Jaguars add a ninth straight regular season victory, blasting the Cleveland Browns 34-10 at home. Much like the 2025 season, it was Foye Oluokun who kicked 2026 off with an interception to really get things going and Jacksonville wouldn’t look back.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was surgical, completing 18 of 23 passes for 245 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. This marks his ninth straight game with multiple touchdowns.
With his four passing touchdowns, Lawrence became just the fourth player to record 100 passing touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns before turning 27 years old, joining Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.
On throws 10+ yards downfield, Lawrence completed 11 of his 12 attempts for 179 yards and three touchdowns. Those three touchdowns on such passes were the most of any game in Lawrence’s career.
It certainly helps that the Jaguars offensive line kept him upright and unbothered for much of the game. According to NextGenStats, the Jaguars allowed just six pressures and a pressure rate of 24.0%, fourth best among the 30 teams to have played.
On the defensive side of things, the Jaguars’ tenacity and propensity for creating takeaways continued as the unit forced two Cleveland Browns’ turnovers. Last year, the Jaguars ranked second in turnovers and they are already off to a hot start in 2026.
The Jaguars’ pass-rush struggled last season but not against the Browns. Travon Walker led the way with seven pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. That mark ties his career high. Josh Hines-Allen added another five as the Jaguars would notch five sacks (T-Most) and a 44.8% pressure rate (4th) in Week 1.
It’s hard to mention the Jaguars without mentioning the unicorn himself, Travis Hunter. Hunter played just four snaps on offense, but blanketed opposing receivers in coverage. On 27 defensive snaps, Hunter was targeted just once, allowed four yards on one reception.
After one week of the 2026 season, the Jaguars stand alone as the sole undefeated team atop the AFC South. It doesn’t get easy for Jacksonville, however, as they are set to travel to Denver to face the Broncos before coming home to fend off the New England Patriots.
