Orange Park Mall temporarily closed due to disturbance, Clay County Sheriff’s Office says

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — UPDATED STORY: ‘We are committed to keeping Clay County safe’: Sheriff responds to Orange Park Mall disturbance

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has reported heavy law enforcement presence at the Orange Park Mall due to a large group of juveniles causing a disturbance.

Clay County Deputies report roughly 1,000 juveniles were on the premise of the theater in the Orange Park Mall.

The disturbance is reported to have started inside the AMC Theater. Deputies working both on and off duty inside the mall and theater broke up the fight.

One juvenile has been arrested for battery on law enforcement. There are currently no reports of injuries to law enforcement.

Deputies closed the mall and theater down due to prevent juveniles from running in and out of the mall and businesses inside the complex.

Any unaccompanied juveniles need to be picked up by a parent or guardian immediately.

Law enforcement is continuing to clear the juveniles out of the mall.
