ORANGE PARK, Fla. — People in Orange Park gathered Sunday afternoon in front of Jacksonville Greyhound Racing to protest dog racing.
People involved in the protest say the greyhounds used in the races are drugged, abused, starved, beaten and held in cages into which they can barely fit.
The goal is to end dog racing in Florida as 39 other states have done.
Protesters say they will meet on the third week of every month.
