Luxury recliners coming to Jacksonville's Tinseltown movie theater

Wine, beer and luxury recliners are coming to Jacksonville's Tinseltown movie theater.

A Cinemark spokesman told Action News Jax that the new electric recliners are part of a remodeling project that will take about four months to complete.

The company is changing out all of the seats in every auditorium, a move that will reduce the seat count by about 40 percent.

Bryan Jeffries of Cinemark said it's because of the extra space needed for the oversized chairs and foot rests.

The theater will also begin to serve beer and wine at the concession stand.

The remodel comes a few years after AMC Regency added a full-service bar and recliners.

B&B Theatres Amelia Island 7 also added recliners and alcohol options during a remodel that was completed earlier this month.

The theater opened on March 9.
