JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The United States Postal Service said mailboxes were broken into at a Southside apartment complex.

It happened at The Park at Trapani Apartments just off Southside Boulevard.
Investigators said the suspect pried open the mailboxes and stole an unknown amount of mail.
A neighbor told Action News Jax off camera he believed most of his mail was stolen.
The complex said the mailboxes were damaged and will have to replaced.
In the meantime, neighbors have to drive more than 5 miles to the post office located at 11250 Phillips Industrial Blvd., to pick up their mail.
“It’s an extreme inconvenience,” Christopher Babb said.
USPS said at least one other complex was hit. They didn’t say which one or if the cases are connected.
In 2018, postal inspectors arrested nearly 2,500 suspects for stealing mail and packages.
