JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is behind bars after making a threat to commit a mass shooting against women, children and Muslims.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputies said 32-year-old Nicholas Roundtree is accused of this crime and it was a post on social media that got him locked up.
Twitter is often used to keep up with current events and post opinions about whatever comes to mind.
However, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's Intelligence Unit received a complaint in December about a tweet posted by Roundtree that read, "I intend to kill American women at a market, I intend to kill American children as they play, I intend to kill Muslims as they pray. I love to kill."

On Thursday, a judge denied the option to reduce Roundtree’s bond from $75,000 and he remains behind bars.
Family members refused to comment on the crime. Representatives from the Muslim community heard about the tweet and said they were devastated.
Roundtree is being charged with written threats to kill or do bodily harm.
It’s unclear when another court date will be scheduled or how much time he could serve for committing this crime.
