JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man found shot on the side of the road in Northwest Jacksonville on Wednesday night has died as a result of his injuries, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.
The man, identified as 22-year-old Tommy Howard Spells, was standing near the corner of W. 23rd and Division streets, according to JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock.

Investigators have learned that someone in a mid-size gray sedan shot Spells while driving past.
