Zalewski's son tells Action News Jax reporter Brittney Donovan that his dad had just moved into the home from Chicago on Monday.
He said his dad flipped houses and was planning to fix up the home this winter.
Action News Jax was there as officers knocked on neighbor's doors and collected evidence inside the home -- nearly 24 hours after Zalewski's body was found.
Police are not releasing his cause of death because they say it could jeopardize the investigation.
Officers are asking anyone with information about the murder to call 912-554-7802 or the Silent Witness program at 912-264-1333.
