A Jacksonville man received a life sentence for a 2009 kidnapping and sexual battery conviction.
Rodney Charles Maxwell, 40, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison, for charges he was found guilty of in June.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Maxwell grabbed a woman from behind as she was walking home. He dragged her to a nearby park, choked her and forced her to have sex.
Maxwell was sentenced to 40 years in prison for a previous armed sexual battery conviction, but only served 19 years. He committed this crime two months after being released.
