Man shot dead inside motel room in Argyle Forest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Police are investigating after a man was found shot and killed inside a motel room in Argyle Forest.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, around 10:20 p.m., police were flagged down near Youngerman Circle and directed them to a Red Roof Inn off Blanding Blvd. where witnesses heard shots fired.

Upon arrival, JSO located a man shot multiple times inside a room. Police say he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators from the JSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units say it appears the victim was fatally shot after an argument broke out between him and another Black male.

The suspect fled the scene and an arrest has not been made.
