Man shot in leg during argument on Jacksonville’s Westside, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized after being shot during an argument outside a home on the west side early Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded around midnight to the 7200 block of Ken Knight Drive East after a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his late 40s suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where his injuries were listed as non-life-threatening.

Investigators said the victim was standing in his front yard when he got into an argument with another person known to him. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired several shots, striking the victim in the leg.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

JSO says the suspect has been detained.
