Marco Rubio to stop in Jacksonville as new poll shows he needs boost

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Marco Rubio will be in Jacksonville Monday to make a last-minute push to win his home state.

A newly-released poll shows he'll need a lot of help from voters.

The poll released from Florida Atlantic University shows businessman Donald Trump with a 23 point lead over Rubio and Ted Cruz.
Trump has 44 percent of the vote; Rubio and Cruz sit at 21 percent each.
The Florida Primary is March 15. The FAU poll does show 5 percent of Florida Republicans are undecided. We asked early voters if they thought that even mattered at this point.
"I think he (Rubio) didn't have enough experience," said Joseph Smith, who voted early Sunday. "I don't know anything about Senator Rubio."
"I think (voters) want to see change," said Bill Campbell. "Big time change."
Duval County Supervisor of Elections Mike Hogan said Republican early voters outnumber Democrats so far by nearly 10,000 in the county.
"It's a little unusual because there are more Democrats registered than Republicans," he told Action News Jax.
Hogan says he believes Republicans all over are charged up about the different candidates, and the polls reflect that.
On the Democrats side, the FAU poll shows Hillary Clinton beating Bernie Sanders in Florida. Clinton has 59 percent to Sanders' 31 percent.

Rubio is scheduled to have a meet and greet at Maple Street Biscuit Company March 14 at 10 a.m. Anyone who is interested in attending is asked to register for the event on his website.
