Mugshot: 75-year-old man arrested for Clay County bank robbery

Deputies have identified a 75-year-old man arrested for allegedly robbing a Clay County bank.

Deputies received a 911 call from the Bank of America at 29 Blanding Boulevard just after 10 a.m. Monday.

The caller said a white man possibly in his 40s or 50s handed the teller a "threatening note" demanding money.

Deputies put out a bulletin with the suspect's description. A trooper pulled him over and took Noel Johnson, 75 of Fort White, into custody.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue was called to the scene after Johnson reportedly told deputies he was light headed.

According to Johnson's arrest report, a bag with a large sum of money was in plain sight on the passenger seat of his car.

Deputies said $1,760 was recovered from the car.

Johnson is facing an armed robbery charge.

His arrest report says he did not have a weapon.
