MyFWC reminds divers of annual Lionfish Challenge

The 2023 Lionfish Challenge kicks off in 2 weeks! Lionfish are one of the most harmful invasive reef fish species in Florida.

Each year during the challenge, we encourage Florida divers of all ages to remove lionfish from our waters to earn prizes and help limit the negative impacts to native marine life and ecosystems.

This statewide lionfish harvest tournament runs Jun. 1 through Oct 1. With tiered prizes, the more you catch, the more you win!
