The following incident occurred Monday, March 1.

According to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a suspect is seen on the auto shop’s surveillance cameras walking around the parking lot for a few minutes, then opening the hood of a white Mustang.

The suspect got inside the Mustang before stepping back out and opening the hood again.

After she closed the hood, she approached the front door to the auto shop and began ramming her shoulder into the door until it broke open.

After she entered the building, a truck pulled up into the parking lot.

The suspect ran out the front door toward the north parking lot of Buddy’s Auto and away from the truck that entered the parking lot.

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office responded to this scene while it was in progress.

When they arrived, there was an employee in a parking lot adjacent to Buddy’s, pointing to the apparent suspect.

Deputies approached the employee, who said the suspect was inside one of the cars on Buddy’s Auto Clinic’s property.

When deputies approached a gray Impala, they observed a female who was later identified as Tiffany Scott sitting inside the passenger seat.

Scott was not moving and was wearing a mask that covered her whole face, concealing her identity.

Deputies detained Scott after asking her to step out of the vehicle.

Scott was holding several sets of vehicle keys, which she dropped while being handcuffed, according to the NCSO arrest report.

A deputy then began to take Scott to his patrol car when she pulled a switch blade from her pants with the blade extended.

Thankfully, the deputy was able to disarm the suspect without incident.

The suspect stated her purse was inside a white Mustang. Once the deputy confirmed this, he searched it and found her driver’s license.

This helped to establish Scott’s identity.

Until that point, Scott had given deputies false names and even claimed she didn’t know her name when questioned.
