Neighbors split over benefits of new St. Johns County development

St. Johns County is growing, but with all that growth comes traffic, as new retail stores and restaurants come to the area.

A new mixed-use development called “Fountains at St. Johns” at Interstate 95 and County Road 210 is coming to the area.

“We need some restaurants out here and other things there’s not a lot of out here,” says neighbor Marc Raymond.

According to the U.S. Census, St. Johns County is the 14th-fastest growing area in the country.

Jeannette Listing is concerned about more traffic on 210.

“Sometime it takes me a while to get home,” says Listing.

The developer expects to break ground in early 2019 and finish later in the year.
