JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Hanna Park is getting extended hours. Mayor Alvin Brown announced that Hanna Park will open at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for early bird hours.
The park will open at 7 a.m. on the weekend.
The new schedule starts on Aug. 18. Early hours were extended to help ease traffic going toward the Mayport Naval Station.
One-thousand-three-hundred sailors and Marines from the USS Iwo Jima and ISS Fort McHenry arrived in Mayport on Sunday.
The City of Jacksonville says they are focused weekdays, but will review the hours of operation for weekends later.
