New grocery store opens in a Southside neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A new grocery store has opened it's doors in a Jacksonville neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The 41,000 square-foot new Walmart Neighborhood Market is located at 9550 Baymeadows Road.

The store offers a wide variety of fresh produce and organic selections; a full-service deli and in-store bakery with fresh breads and more; and a full grocery department with favorite name-brand products at the same affordable prices as Walmart’s larger stores.

As a convenience to customers, the new location will also have a free store pickup program where customers can shop millions of items on Walmart.com with free shipping to the local store -- with many item available for pickup the same day.

The store's media relation says customers will also find a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, health and beauty items, baby and pet supplies, and select household goods.

The location is also hiring up to 95 associates for full- and part-time positions within the store. Applicants interested in careers at Walmart can apply online at Walmartcareers.com.
