Garbage trucks were seen at the home Thursday morning.

A Nassau County spokesperson confirmed Thursday with Action News Jax that the county scheduled the removal of the trash from the right-of-way to address the health concerns, as it did a few months ago.

As of Thursday, the home is still out of compliance, according to the county.

Action News Jax spoke with more neighbors who say they are frustrated and concerned for their health, safety and even property values.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper gave Action News Jax the following statement:

“We have looked into every allegation with negative results on the criminal end. It is a code enforcement issue because of the way they are piling up trash in their yard. The homeowner is willingly allowing vagrants to squat at his property. We have even had narcotics set up on the house to see if any drug activity is occurring with negative results. We will continue to investigate any criminal activity or allegation, but many of the complaints seem to be civil in nature.”

Still, neighbors hope a Public Nuisance Abatement Board is created in Nassau County, like other counties have, including Duval.
