Palatka Police Department

PALATKA, Fla — Earlier this month, Palatka Police Officers responded to 301 Kay Larkin Drive in reference to a shooting. Officers made contact with the victim, an adult female who’s identity is not being released.

The victim informed Officer Kesner that as she was leaving the apartment complex, she observed her ex-boyfriend identified as Zion McNeal 22 of Palatka sitting in a vehicle in the apartment complex.

The victim and her friend got into their own vehicle and started driving toward the exit of the apartment complex.

According to the victim, McNeal followed them to the exit and pulled alongside her vehicle. As the victim pulled forward, she observed McNeal extend his arm outside the window of his vehicle with a gun.

McNeal then fired approximately three rounds at the victim. Out of fear for her life, the victim fled the area and immediately called 911.

Neither the victim nor her friend were injured. McNeal also fled from the area and could not be located.
