FHP: Man dead after crash, car fire on State Road 9B

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said a person is dead after a crash involving a car fire on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on the State Road 9B northbound entrance ramp to Interstate 95 northbound, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP report says a man driving a pickup truck drove into the right grass shoulder for unknown reasons and crashed into the concrete wall. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

FHP is still investigating the crash.

The ramp will remain closed for another hour, FHP says.
